Tidal Energy

Tidal power offers predictability as well as proven technologies easily transferable from the offshore wind industry – a combination which promises a great future. The particular challenges relate to installation and maintenance where LOC Renewables, with 4 decades of assurance in marine operations, can provide cutting edge engineering and advice to enhance the feasibility of such devices. Our experience covers contributions to the development of devices by a number of different developers, most recently to the 398MW Meygen project in the Pentland Firth as owner’s engineer to help to coordinate the various tenders for development.
