Offshore wind technology is the marine electricity generation system of choice. The dramatic reductions in levelied cost of energy (LCOE) of offshore wind and the technology’s rapid approach towards grid parity have occurred against a backdrop of increasing turbine sizes, competition amongst experienced developers, and the improved certainty of the regulatory and finance environment. The optimisation of fixed foundation types ranging from monopiles, jackets and gravity based foundations is also driving costs down. The ambition for lower costs now also extends to floating foundations and mega turbines requiring even more radical and innovative thinking to mass produce, assemble, transport and install in ever increasing water depths.

LOC Renewables with its highly qualified and specific sector-experienced master mariners, naval architects, civil, structural, geotechnical and marine engineers is able to assist clients in the planning, design, build and operating phases to extract optimum value from innovation.
