Tim came to LOC in 2018 as Director of Renewables operations and Turbine Engineering in London. A highly qualified engineer in the renewable energy sector, Tim is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with a PhD in turbomachinery from the University of Cambridge, and has over 20 years experience in turbine engineering and design. Tim is also the recipient of the prestigious ASME Gas Turbine Award, 1999.

He is an offshore wind energy expert with experience in the assessment of environmental conditions and design loads for offshore wind energy projects.

He has significant experience of leading collaborative R&D projects and managing teams of design engineers, including on the ‘Cost reduction of offshore wind energy’ R&D project (2013-2014).

He is also a member and co-convenor of the IEC Working Group responsible for the development and maintenance of the international design standard for offshore wind turbines (IEC 61400-3).

Tim also has a strong track record in business development and technical leadership, having worked as Business Development Director for Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa at DNV GL Energy.
