An experienced technical authority within the technical wellbeing of DP and electrical related work around the LOC Group.
Sen joined LOC in 2015 as LOC Group Technical Authority for DP Services. Sen has experience over thirty-four years in marine and
offshore industry including covering variety of engineering and management positions for a range of commercial shipping companies,
classification societies and consultancy services. His current responsibilities include maintaining an up-to-date technical standard in
practising Dynamic Positioning analysis and assessment of SRtP for cruise ships in line with the current industry standards and class
Prior to joining LOC, Sen worked as regional DP manager (Middle East, India and Africa) for DNVGL Noble Denton. He managed
several high-level projects and a team conducting DP-2 and DP-3 FMEA of Semisubmersible Rigs, MODU, construction & pipelay
vessels. As a class surveyor, he has experience in approval of power systems with closed bus configuration requiring enhanced
protection systems such as AGP (AKA) and DGMS(ABB) etc. He has managed and written FMEA on all such systems and analysed
the first hybrid DC drilling switchboard (supported by super capacitors) which was installed on a Semi-Sub rig.
He has gained extensive experience in new building of cruise ships during his time with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line where he was a
part of the new build supervision team of Adventure of The Seas the then largest cruise ship in the world.
Sen is writing a PhD thesis on hybrid DC distribution systems suitable for DP related marine and offshore applications at UCL. He is
a professional review interviewer of IMarEST for chartered engineer status with the Engineering Council of the United Kingdom.
