Scott joined LOC in 2010 and is an Associate Marine Engineer Consultant, based in Hong Kong.
Scott is a Class 1 marine engineer with over 40 years’ experience in all ranks on several different types of vessels, including reefer containers, bulk carriers, gear bulk, VLCC, LPG carriers and chemical/oil product tankers, with 23 years’ experience as Chief Engineer.
Scott has undertaken investigations on behalf of Hull & Machinery and P&I, including both main and auxiliary engine failure, crankshaft replacement, flywheel failure, fuel contamination, turbocharger, steering gear, propeller damage, hull repairs, reefer plants, subsea cables, deck cranes and container terminal gantry cranes.
He has experience of final build, sea trials and delivery of five handysize chemical/oil product tankers from Chinese shipyards, recently attending the final build and sea trials on a vessel built in a Vietnamese shipyard.
Scott’s other experience includes on-hire survey work and internal SIRE and CDI audits on chemical/oil product tankers and LPG Carriers.
