About

A Marine Engineer with over 40 years’ experience in a wide range of shipping and marine related positions.

Richard is an Associate, Marine Engineer and joined LOC after having spent his early career at sea rising to the rank of Chief Engineer before moving into management positions ashore. His sea services included vessels such as Oil Tankers, Cargo, Bulk Carriers, OBO’s, RoRo and Passenger.

Richard has extensive management experience in Fleet, Operations, Technical and Project Management roles in the Offshore Sector including for Ice Breaker Vessels. During this period he was involved in many aspects of the development and implementation of Safety Management Systems and HSE policies and procedures. He has also been heavily involved in developing vessel specific Planned Maintenance Systems.

Since joining LOC Richard has been responsible for the project management of a number of high profile projects in the Offshore Energy sector and also provides Marine Warranty Services support. He has acted as a consultant in a number of legal and due diligence cases. He carries out Suitability Surveys on all types of vessels and is a CMID and OVID inspector.

Richard holds a BSc in Engineering Management and is a First Class Marine Engineer.
