Nick joined LOC Singapore in 2012 as a Chief Engineer (Class 1) with over 43 years seagoing and industry experience on general cargo vessels, AHTS, PSV’s, product tankers, including over 20 years in the rank of chief engineer on VLCC’s, Suezmax/Aframax tankers. Since joining LOC, Nick has been involved with dry dock preparations, pollution control, investigating main engine & vessel underperformance issues, a wide variety of machinery damage investigations including main engines, generators, intermediate shafts, tail shafts and stern tube bearings and assemblies, hull fouling/coating issues.. Additionally Nick has conducted pre-purchase inspections, vessel condition and machinery space risk assessments, and monitoring steel work repairs. He has prepared reports for the purposes of litigation. Prior to LOC, Nick’s onshore experience included assignments as a vessel manager and ship superintendent in ship management, technical manager for lay-up company and repair manager for a ship repair company. Consequently, he has extensive experience of dry- docking, ship repair activities, sea trials, costing/budgeting, lay-up preparation, damage repairs.
