Baiqian is a Naval Architect, based in London. After completing a Master of Science Degree in Naval Architecture with Distinction at Newcastle University, where he also graduated with First Class Honours in 2014 with a Bachelor degree in Offshore Engineering.
He has a particular interest in offshore renewable energy and has conducted research projects such as theoretical analysis of the scouring effect of offshore wind turbine foundations and hydrodynamic performance of horizontal-axis floating tidal turbines. He has proficient skills in numerical modelling and simulation, motion analysis and mooring analysis using various industry standard software.
He has conducted document reviews of a wide range of marine and offshore transportation and operation projects with respect to Finite Element Structural Analysis and developed spreadsheets to validate these. Lastly he has participated in a shipbuilding dispute where he provided technical translation of documents written in mandarin.
