LOC lights the way for new James Bond film “Spectre”

LOC were shaken but not stirred when we received an emergency request to help with the filming of the new Bond film Spectre, earlier this year.

Over the May Bank Holiday weekend we were contacted with an urgent request to help shoot night scenes on Westminster Bridge.

Our team sprang into action, organising the marine warranty towage approvals for the same day and then worked into the night to review the barge stability calculations before the tow could be approved and the much needed equipment transported.

In just 24 hours, our team had completed all the assessments and secured all the approvals for two barges, each with telescopic crawler cranes mounted with lighting systems to be positioned alongside the bridge, ready for two nights of filming.

Jonathan Britain, Managing Director London said; ‘It was a tight turnaround and we must thank Phil Flanagan, Paul Hall and Kevin Sirski who took their lead from 007 to go above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks to them, we were able to make this happen for the film crew.

‘If you go and see Spectre, as many of us no doubt will, look out for the scenes on Westminster Bridge and think of LOC!’
