LOC is pleased to annouce that its Hull & Machinery (‘H&M’) Team is actively carrying out Desktop Reviews, and Remote Survey Attendances, aimed at offering an alternative and proportionate solution for past and current H&M casualty matters.
LOC’s Desktop Review model has been carefully developed by our marine consultants to include an incident questionnaire, targeted supporting documents and relevant photographs, along with more detailed questions in relation to the background of the incident.
The Remote Survey Attendance (undertaken without physical attendance onboard), has also been developed on the basis of an incident questionnaire, but with subsequent repairs being managed remotely. Additional relevant supporting documents and photographs would be requested during the repair work, together with relevant questions in relation to the progress of repairs and also the background of the incident.
Both of these review/survey approaches, are undertaken by a member of the LOC Technical Team with relevant expertise. An independent third-party report is produced covering the findings and/or the repairs undertaking in respect of the incident.
Target: Simple, non-contentious incidents, late notifications, known owners.
Advantages: Minimal third-party cost, no attendance, faster reporting, clarity for owners.
Cost: Simple low value incidents from USD 1,000.00, with more intensive reviews increasing in cost depending severity of the incident involved.
