Nick Haslam

Group Director of Shipping Services
Nick joined LOC in 1997 as a Class 1 Master Mariner based in London. He has 20 years sea going experience on bulk carriers, LPG, container vessels, reefers, salvage tugs and AHTS, including command. He is experienced in all aspects of towing, including offshore, port and harbour work involving ships, offshore units and barges. He has seagoing experience of salvage operations around the UK and overseas, including wreck removal and pollution control.  Nick is the Group Director of Shipping Services and is on the panel of SCR’s. He has attended more than 25 salvage operations where SCOPIC was invoked, and numerous other marine casualties on behalf of P&I Clubs, admiralty lawyers, governments and insurance interests including more than 17 major wreck removal operations.  Nick has prepared reports and provided opinion for arbitration / high court hearings and acted as expert witness and technical mediator in the UK, US, Malaysia, Singapore and Chile.  Nick has extensive offshore marine warranty survey experience particularly with loadouts, towage, offshore installation.
