Naval ArchitectEdward joined LOC in 2007 as a Naval Architect and is now a Shipping Technical Director in London. He is a member of the Lloyd’s Special Casualty Representative (SCR) Panel. Edward has attended and advised on salvage and wreck removals, undertaken accident investigations, damage surveys, investigated speed and angle of blow, offshore structure allisions, subsea repairs, new build disputes and carried out mooring and stability analyses utilising GHS. He is also a Marine Warranty Surveyor managing offshore warranty projects. Edward has five years’ experience working as a Classification Surveyor with DNV on new buildings, ships in operation, and materials and components, together with practical experience with ship surveys, steel renewal, aluminium and composite hulls, NDT, block inspections, pipe inspections, fire insulation, lightweight surveys and inclining tests on various vessel types. Edward has prepared expert reports for the High Court and arbitration on stability, structural, new build, and class matters in London, Hong Kong and Mumbai, and given oral evidence in London arbitrations. Edward has a Master’s in Marine Technology from Newcastle University, and is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects.
