We can analyse the most complex problems

LOC has access to a broad range of engineering software which our naval architects, structural and civil engineers use to analyse the most complex of problems. We routinely undertake detailed analysis of mooring systems ranging from deep water catenary systems to alongside fender restrained systems using MOSES, ORCAFLEX and OPTIMOOR software packages.

In addition, LOC performs transportation analysis using SafeTrans software to assist in the planning and verification of safe marine transports, heavy lift operations, wet and dry tows and self-propelled voyages for all types of vessels and cargoes.  These transportation analyses are complimented by stability and sea-keeping analyses using GHS and MOSES.

Our structural analysis services includes third party verification of structural calculations, independent strength assessment of components and forensic analyses to determine the cause of structural failures.  We use a variety of finite element analysis software in addition to first principles engineering, including STAAD Pro, SACS, FEMAP and NASTRAN.

LOC can draw on any or all of the above engineering analyses to provide independent technical support and advice to owners, salvors or insurers following a shipping casualty, during salvage or wreck removal operations or as part of subsequent casualty investigation for dispute resolution.
